Beverage containers are accepted in your recycling container.

Prep containers for recycling

• Empty all contents from beverage containers.
• Do NOT flatten or crush beverage containers. 
• Always keep labels on beverage containers to ensure CRV redemption.
• Do not stuff anything inside the beverage container! This can render it not recyclable. 
• Athens accepts broken glass. Please place it in the recycle container.

How to handle lids

• Plastic bottle + plastic lid = keep on container
• Glass bottle + metal lid = remove lid and place both in recycling
• Glass bottle + plastic lid = remove lid and place in trash, recycle glass bottle
• Metal bottle + metal lid = remove lid and place both in recycling
